Quick start
Set your Work minutes, Rest minutes and number of Cycles, then tap Start Focus Session. The app alternates between focus and break time automatically and lets you know when the session is done.
Frequently asked questions
I can't hear the alert
- Make sure your phone isn't on silent or Do Not Disturb.
- Turn the in-app Volume up and tap Test to check the sound.
- Allow notifications when prompted (Settings → Apps → ADHD Pomodoro → Notifications).
- Turn on Keep screen awake and watch for the colour pulse as a visual backup.
The timer didn't alert while the app was in the background or the screen was off
Some phones close background apps aggressively to save battery. Allow ADHD Pomodoro to run in the background: Settings → Apps → ADHD Pomodoro → Battery → Unrestricted. The app also schedules an exact alarm as a backup so the alert still fires.
What does the visual alert do?
At each switch between work and rest, the screen gently pulses colour three times (about half a second each). It's deliberately slow, with no rapid flashing. You can turn it off in the options.
Can I change the sound?
Yes — choose Chime, Bird or Cricket, pick High, Medium or Low pitch, and set the volume. Tap Test to preview.
How do I pause or stop?
On the running screen, tap Pause to take a moment (then Resume), or Stop to end the session — you'll be asked to confirm so you don't lose a session by accident.
Does it cost anything, or collect my data?
The app is free and supported by a single banner ad. It has no accounts and stores your settings only on your device. See the Privacy Policy.
