CountFlow Support
What is CountFlow?
CountFlow is built for changing a behaviour. Maybe you're quitting vaping or smoking, cutting back on coffee or trying to drink more water. Whatever the habit, the first step is the same: count it. Tap the big button each time it happens and the app keeps score.
The clever part comes when you set a goal. Say you want to cut down from 1000 puffs a day to 100 by Christmas. CountFlow watches your real numbers, works out your actual trend and tells you each morning what today’s target should be to stay on track. One rough day doesn’t reset everything. The app looks at the pattern, not the panic. Everything stays on your phone and nothing needs an account.
Getting started
- Install and open the app. A short setup asks what you want to count. Give it a name and a unit, for example “Vaping” and “puffs”. You can skip ahead and start tapping within seconds.
- Tap the big button on the Home screen every time you do the thing. The screen shows today’s running total. That’s the whole job: one tap per occurrence.
- Made a mistake? Tap Undo (−1) to remove the last tap.
- Missed a few days? Use Add historical data on the Home screen to enter a number for any past day, for example “yesterday: 500”. More history means smarter targets, so it’s worth backfilling what you know.
Setting a goal
- Open Target setup.
- Choose a direction: Reduce to or Increase to.
- Enter the daily level you’re aiming for, for example 100 puffs a day.
- Pick the date you want to reach it by.
- If you like, enter a starting point, your best guess at your current daily level. This is optional. Skip it and the app works it out from your first few days of real data.
From then on the Home screen shows today’s total, today’s recommended target and whether you’re on track. The target updates every day based on how you’re actually doing, not on how the plan said you should be doing.
Give it a few days. The app needs a little history before its trend line means anything, so early numbers may wobble. That’s normal.
Reading the graphs
Open the Graphs screen and switch between views:
- Hourly - shows the shape of a single day. Good for spotting your danger hours.
- Daily, Weekly, Monthly - your totals over time, with arrows to move back and forward.
- Journey - the whole story on one screen, from your very first tap to your target date. It overlays your actual numbers, your trend line, your planned path and where you’ll land if the current trend continues.
On the daily and longer views you can toggle the trend line, the plan line and the target marker on or off.
Reminders
If you want a nudge to keep logging, go to Settings and set up reminders:
- Choose once per day at a set time, or repeating at an interval you pick.
- For repeating reminders set an active window, for example every hour between 09:00 and 19:00, so it never pings you at night.
- Pick the alert style: sound, vibration or a visual flash. Any combination works.
- Allow notification permission when the app asks, otherwise reminders can’t fire.
Your data
Everything lives on your device. Nothing is uploaded anywhere. Two things follow from that:
- You can export your full history as a CSV file from Settings → Export and save or share it however you like.
- If you delete the app your data goes with it, so export first if you want to keep it.
You can rename what you’re counting at any time in Settings without losing history. There’s also a clear data option if you want a completely fresh start.
